As much as we love seeing your bright and shining faces in our Fuzzy’s Taco Shop locations day after day, we realize sometimes you need to change things up. For those times, you can order all your favorite Fuzzy’s menu items to-go and take the party with you, like, say, for a picnic.
People don’t picnic enough these days, are we right? Whatever happened to just sitting on a blanket under a tree and eating food off your lap? It’s a lost art.
Before you get ahead of yourself, there are a few things you’ll need for the perfect Fuzzy’s picnic. Forthwith, the makings of a three-course alfresco culinary tour de force.
Appetizer: Chips & Queso/Guacamole
To start off this picnic right, serve up some chips and some queso and/or guacamole (OR BOTH—sorry, all caps…got excited). You may be scoffing right now, thinking, “Yeah right! How do you keep the queso warm?!”
Well, scoffer, we thought about that so never fear (or scoff). Besides the obvious—using an insulated container—you can do it the more DIY way. Wrap some rocks or bricks in aluminum foil and put them in the oven. Once they’re hot, put them in the bottom of a cooler and keep it closed. Voila! Your own portable oven.
Main Course: Tacos, Quesadillas and Nachos
You didn’t think we’d just pick one menu item, did you?
No, no, no. We’re going with a trifecta of treats here. If you’re going to picnic, you might as well go all out, right? Seeing as your appetite will be on fire after the chips and queso/guacamole, you’ll want to stuff your face as quickly as possible before your brain can signal to your stomach that you’re not hungry anymore. Science, y’all.
These three items all have something to bring to the table (blanket?). And serving them should go off without a hitch, especially when utilizing the “hot bricks covered in aluminum foil” method we spoke of above.
Dessert: Sopapillas
Sopapillas are a perfect way to polish off your picnic. This cinnamon-sugar, honey-doused treat is the sweetest way to end any meal, really.
Follow these instructions, and you’ll be on your way to hosting the hottest picnic in the park. Don’t be surprised if you attract onlookers and even freeloaders. With a great picnic, comes great responsibility.
