How to Build a Better (Taco) Bracket

March 12, 2015 by Dani Goodman

Fuzzy Taco Shop

This time of year, those at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop seem to have only one thing on their minds:

Their bracket.

Even though we know they’re referring to that whole college basketball thing, we’re thinking a taco bracket would be a lot more fun—and a lot more fun to bust.

Building your taco bracket is no simple matter. In the world of Fuzzy’s, there can only be one champion, and there’s a lot riding on it: bragging rights.

Instead of just guessing blindly this year, follow some of our ace bracketology tips. You could wind up the victor of this Mexican food madn—er, frenzy!

First: Choose a strategy. Even if it’s ridiculous, you need a method to your munching.

Perhaps you’re only going to select flour tortilla menu items instead of corn tortilla menu items. Refried beans vs. black beans. Breakfast vs. rest-of-the-day menu items. It’s up to you but, going with common denominators is often the best strategy.

Of course, statistics are on your side if you pick the favorites (think Baja Tacos and Jumbo Burrito). But make sure to put some upsets in there, too. Just pepper them in there like cilantro on a taco. Maybe a Big Shredded Chicken Salad will come up with the W. Maybe a sandwich will make it to the finals!? Who knows? Crazier things have happened.

Now, like we talked about, we all know what the frontrunner is. No, not Enchiladas, though those are delicious.

No, not Quesadillas either…

Come on…

It’s in our name!!

Tacos! It’s Tacos!

Tacos are the frontrunner!

Not only are they home team favorites, they’re often away team favorites, too. It’s hard to lose when everyone loves you. Just look at this starting lineup: Shredded Chicken, Shredded Beef, Special Ground Beef, Shredded Spicy Pork and Grilled Veggie.

Total dream team.

But keep in mind, the No. 1 seed doesn’t always take home the gold (or the trophy or whatever).

Nachos have been making a comeback, and the Fajitas are smokin’ right now. Tamales’ offense is pretty impressive, too.

So what do we think? Who do we think will make it to the championship game?

It’s hard to pick favorites, but if we had to guess…

Tacos vs. Enchiladas.

We know, we know, total Cinderella story. But sometimes good fundamentals are enough to bring down the king.

We shall see…

Come in to your nearest Fuzzy’s Taco Shop and pick your champ today.
