Combat the Cold at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop

December 4, 2014 by Dani Goodman

Fuzzy's Taco

So winter’s not here yet, huh? Well, that “arctic freeze” had us thinking otherwise. We’re still thawing out from that one. (Thanks a lot, Canada.) Luckily, we’re warm-blooded creatures, and where there is cold, we can (and will) find warmth.

When the temps drop again, turn to Fuzzy’s Taco Shop for your heat source. We offer an enticing assortment of menu items that will keep you toasty all the way to spring.

Queso

This thick, melted, monterrey jack gooeyness is worshipped for a reason. Like some sort of sun god that protects its worshippers during a harsh winter, our queso will blanket you with warmth. To further kill that chill, picture yourself sitting in a tub of queso with a bag of tortilla chips by your side. Kinda gross, but kinda awesome.

Beans

There are black beans, borracho beans and refried beans, and they all come served with steam rising from the surface. Think of them as little embers of coziness, and your stomach is the furnace waiting to be filled.

Enchiladas

On a cold day it doesn’t get much better than enchiladas. The tortilla and sauce serve as an edible heat blanket cradling the filling underneath, keeping everyone nice and toasty.

Quesadillas

Quesadillas are basically a less-messy version of enchiladas with even more tortilla action in play. Experts will open their quesadillas up and smother the innards with the aforementioned queso for an extra few degrees.

And basically everything else

Come to think of it, everything will keep you warm at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop: the tacos, the burritos, the nachos, everything. Just about the only thing that isn’t “hot” are our salads, but they’re not, like, ice salads or anything. Just pour some salsa on top for some added heat, and you’re good to go.

Now you may be thinking about that one thing that won’t keep you cozy inside. After all, we have to admit that we have a hefty choice of refreshing cold drinks. Sure, those Coca-Cola polar bears are always drinking cold soda, but they’re also protected by thick layers of blubber and fur.

They also know what they’re doing. Here’s a fun fact:

It’s been said that cold drinks actually warm you up more than a warm drink. No, it’s not blasphemy. Jeremy Smith, an internist at the University of Wisconsin Hospital (where they know a thing or two about being cold), says, “It could be the placebo effect … you feel warmer because you think the drink is supposed to warm you.”

Drinking a cold drink actually fools your body into thinking it’s cold outside (even if it really is), causing your body temperature to rise.

Science!

So there you have it: Fuzzy’s Taco Shop will keep you warm this winter, and polar bears are as smart as they are adorable. Haven’t you learned a lot today?

Come in to get warm at your nearest Fuzzy’s today.
