College football seems to disappear from our lives as quickly as it enters it. Just as we’ve gotten used to waking up on Saturday met with a flurry of college awesomeness, it vanishes quicker than you can say “Fuzzy’s Butt Burnin’ Hot Sauce.”
But that’s okay. Life goes on.
That doesn’t mean you can’t admit you’re having withdrawals. It happens to the best of us. At Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, we can help you fill the college football void in your life. With our four-step program, you’ll be back on your feet and enjoying winter/spring in no time.
Re-watch games in your team’s gear.
It’s obviously not the same, but you’ll find reruns of some of the best games online or on a local sports network. There’s nothing wrong with reliving the greatness of a previous season. You watch reruns of Friends and Everybody Loves Raymond; you can watch a TCU vs. Baylor rematch, no problem. Maybe even pick up some Fuzzy’s Taco Shop to-go to give it that same game day vibe.
Wake up early on Saturdays to get breakfast.
Like we mentioned earlier, you’ve been used to waking up Saturday mornings all fall to watch your team (hopefully) dominate. Since you’re already up, why don’t you just swap one addiction for another? Fuzzy’s is open and willing to be your hero, baby.
Wear your favorite player’s jersey around campus.
There’s really no inappropriate time to wear your favorite player’s jersey (unless it’s a football jersey at a baseball game; don’t be that person). Seeing as most players’ futures aren’t set in stone in these days, why not use the offseason as an excuse to get some mileage out of that $100 jersey you bought?
Try basketball.
Okay, it may not be your favorite sport, but in the absence of football, it’s a worthy substitute. Basketball can yield just as many bragging rights as its pigskin brethren (unless your team is awful or your school doesn’t have a basketball program). Regardless, college sports are still alive and that’s got to count for something.
Find your college sport happy place—even if it doesn’t involve grappling on the gridiron—using these four simple steps. We’re here to help.
