Frozen drink combinations you need to sip on our patio

July 17, 2015 by Jonathan Armstead

Fuzzy's Taco Shop

When one thinks of the dog days of summer, it’s natural to crave an ice-cold (preferably alcoholic) beverage. You want to sit on a patio, surrounded by good friends and good tunes, and sip a deliciously chilled concoction.  All of a sudden, it doesn’t matter that it’s nearly 100 degrees and you decided to wear pants.

You’re happy.

Don’t worry. This isn’t just some heat-induced reverie. This scene takes place over and over again at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, all summer long. Not only are the “good friends” and “good tunes” parts accurate, more specifically that “chilled concoction” is none other than our world-famous Fuzzy’s margarita.

Now recently, Fuzzy’s across the nation have expanded on what constitutes a margarita. We’re all about having an eclectic repertoire in the margarita department, so we got excited when we heard about other locations trying out new combinations. Just because it’s another location’s thing, who says the rest of the Fuzzy’s nation can’t get in on it, right?

From our standard margarita (Corona or Dos XX dipped into the marg) to a Raspberry Palmer, here are some of our most popular margarita iterations—which we implore you to try this summer:

Sexyrita
Athens, Georgia

Athens knows how to keep it classy with this “sexy” margarita. It’s made by dunking a champagne split into a Fuzzy’s house margarita. Bonus points if you down one wearing black-tie.

Watermelon Margarita
Cedar Hill, Texas

If there’s anything more perfect than watermelon and margaritas in the middle of summer then please tell us now. This one’s a swirl margarita, and there are also strawberry, sangria, peach, passion fruit, prickly pear and mango options available.

Frozen Blueberry Mojitos
Fort Collins, Colorado

Though not technically in the margarita family, this one’s still part of the “frozen bebido” genus. And it’s about as refreshing as it gets.

Ghost Chili Pepper Rita
Arvada, Colorado

If you know anything about your peppers, you know this is a spicy one. But we’re gonna go ahead and assume it’s safe to drink without latex gloves and a giant glass of milk at the ready.

Chocolate-Covered Cherry Rita
Arvada, Colorado

Goodness. What do we even say here?

Blue Pumpkin Rita
Fort Collins, Colorado

OK, we get it, Colorado. You loooooove experimenting with margaritas.

Raspberry Palmer
Fort Collins, Colorado

Arnold Palmers have kind of lost favor (the drink, not the man), but word on the street is one Colorado Fuzzy’s makes a mighty fine addition to the Palmer (drink) family. Not a margarita, true, but still fruity and refreshing.

Frozen Whiskey Coke
Grapevine, Texas

Again, we know this doesn’t count as a margarita, but it’s a frozen alcoholic beverage that sounds mighty delicious, so it earns a spot.

Orange Fanta Rita
Denton, Texas

We heard there was an orange Fanta soda tipped into a margarita at the downtown Denton location. Please let this be true.

Heads up: Not every Fuzzy’s location serves every one of these frozen drink combos. Remember to check with your local Fuzzy’s Taco Shop for its list of unique margarita offerings. We promise you won’t be disappointed. See ya soon!
