For auld lang syne, Fuzzy heads,
For auld lang syne.
We’ll take a bite of tacos yet,
For auld lang syne.
2015 was a fantastic year for Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, to say the least. Our Butt Burnin’ Hot Sauce is slowly making its way through the bloodstream of the majority of the population of the United States, as we continue to open new locations across the country. The people have spoken, and they want more Fuzzy’s. Who are we to deny them?
So as we look at 2015 in the rearview mirror, we move forward into what we hope is going to be an even better year. Before we do, let’s take a look back at some of the Fuzzy’s highlights that helped make 2015 great.
We brought the Heat
What was once just a temporary offering, the California Heat Tacos turned into a lot more than we expected. These tacos, filled with grilled or tempura-battered shrimp topped with bacon, avocado, feta, shredded cheese, pico de gallo and sriracha-lime sauce served on a corn tortilla, are hot. The people caught on and demanded this fiery special be available year round. So we said, “OK. You got it.” (We’re an easy sell.)
12 Days of Giveaways
As Christmas was approaching, we really got into the giving spirit. We decided to have “12 days of giveaways” leading up to December 25 and rewarded 12 lucky Fuzzy’s fans with an array of Fuzzy’s awesomeness. Merry tacos!
Taco Emoji
You probably heard us shouting from the rooftop when the new iOS software update introduced the world to the taco emoji. We spearheaded that campaign. And by “spearhead,” we mean blogged about it and told our friends to tell their friends.
Tuition Giveaway
We partnered with Dr Pepper for a tuition giveaway to help students pay for college. Our only condition was that the winning students had to eat Fuzzy’s once a day for the rest of their lives. Just kidding (but it was strongly recommended).
Fed the Children
This past September we joined thousands of other restaurants across the country to confront child hunger head on with the Dine Out for No Kid Hungry™ initiative. All Fuzzy’s Taco Shop locations donated $0.25 from each souvenir cup sold during September to the program, and we also allowed our guests to donate 25 of their loyalty rewards points through a redemption button in the Fuzzy’s app (25 points donated = $1).
New Kids Menu
Instead of kids having to eat off their parents’ plates or order some sides and call it a “kids meal,” we took it one step further and revamped our entire kids’ menu. So far, the kiddos at Fuzzy’s seem to be pretty smitten with their new menu (as are some of the child-at-heart adults).
Firecracker Fajitas
Spicy, sriracha-infused fajita meat. House-battered onion strings. Sriracha-lime drizzle. Grilled bell peppers. Warm flour tortillas. Grilled lime wedge. Guacamole. Sour cream. Pico de gallo. Oh, and your choice of two sides.
Unlike the California Heat Tacos, these wonderful concoctions aren’t available year around, but they did show their delicious face in 2015.
Still serving breakfast
We know it’s not a new thing, but we just wanted to point out that we’re still serving breakfast all day. We noticed this seems to be the hot new trend in the food world, and by “hot new trend” we mean “old news because Fuzzy’s has been doing it since day 1.”
Made new friends
Most importantly, we met new people and delighted both new and longtime guests alike with our menu items. The best part about tacos? They get along with everyone.
We hope to see you again in 2016! Here’s to a great year!
