By now you’ve either heard of Sriracha sauce or, like many of us at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, you’re obsessed with it. There’s no shame in that. It’s awesome.
But why is it so awesome? We can think of a few reasons right off the bat.
Sriracha sauce is not too hot and not too mild—it’s juuuuuust right. It won’t disappoint those seeking to spice up their eats, but it also won’t send you screaming for the nearest water source. (Water makes it worse, by the way.)
Its signature orange-red color and mixture of fresh ground chilies, vinegar, salt and sugar have most of its users, well, addicted. Here’s why:
These red chilies have molecules called capsaicinoids, which contain capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin, aka the things that make other things spicy. This fiery duo triggers the TRPV1 receptor protein in our mouths, which reacts to temperatures above 109 degrees Fahrenheit. This is what causes the sauce to feel spicy and hot. Because our body isn’t going down without a fight, it releases pain-relieving endorphins to combat the spiciness, which is akin to the high you get while jogging or exercising.
So that’s why it sometimes feels like a rush when you’re enjoying this magical sauce.
Another reason is that it tastes good on everything. Tacos, eggs, macaroni, roast beef—Sriracha seems to be up to the challenge. It goes great with Fuzzy’s Taco Shop menu items, but we assume you already know that.
Because we love Sriracha sauce, too, we’ve incorporated it into our new limited-time Sriracha-lime ranch salad dressing. It’s a perfect topper for Fuzzy’s salads, but we won’t judge you if it makes its way onto other menu items such as our breakfast tacos or jumbo burrito. (We also have cilantro-lime vinaigrette for a limited time in case you can’t handle the heat!)
So come experience the Sriracha rush at your nearest Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. Your taste buds will thank you, and, honestly you’ll thank yourself. (We often see people randomly patting themselves on the back at Fuzzy’s. It’s cute.)
And don’t worry hot sauce addicts, Fuzzy’s Butt Burnin’ Sauce isn’t going anywhere!
